FAQ

Which squash racket should a beginner buy?

Look for a slightly heavier, head-heavy frame with a large sweet spot. It does more of the work for you. The Harrow Storm 145 and Meta 115 are good starting points.

What weight squash racket is best?

Lighter frames (110 to 120g) are faster and favored by advanced players. Heavier frames (130g and up) are more stable and forgiving for newer players.

Can I wear running shoes for squash?

No. Squash courts need non-marking indoor court shoes. Running shoes can mark the floor and don't support side-to-side movement.

Do I need eye protection?

Eye guards are required for junior and doubles play at most clubs and strongly recommended for everyone.

How often should I restring my racket?

A common rule is as many times a year as you play per week. If you play three times a week, restring about three times a year.
